The team played 77+63=140 games. Therefore it won 77/140 of its games. 77/140=0.55=55%

Here's how to answer this:

Take the # of games won (77) and divide it by the total number of games (77+63= 140). It will give you a decimal and then just multiple that by 100 to give you a percentage.

Well...
If they won 77 and lost 63, that means they played
a total of 140 games. And, the games they won
was 77 out of 140 played; or

77
-----
140

which is 0.55

Multiplied by 100 to get percentage

Equals

55 % of games won

It's already been said by many people, 55%. But, I like my way of finding percents better. 77+63 = total games, 140. Divide 140 by 100, to get 1 percent of the total. Then, divide that percent, in this case 1.4, into the number you wish to find the percentage of, in this case 77. 77/1.4 = 55.

I don't have a calculator in front of me but all you need to do is divide 77 by 63+77=140 (total number of wins divided by total number of games played)

% of games won = Victories / Total Games

% = [77 / (77 +63)]*100

% = [77 / 140] * 100

Get your calculator out and compute the final expression.

Good luck!
