I sat in my bedroom and cried for a while and then called a friend and went out. My boyfriend at the time went out and got drunk for me and then sent his ex flowers. I hope whatever you do is better than mine. You know 30 is a big one, why not treat yourself to a day at the spa and then a great dinner with your love or best friends. Make your parents feel good too, send them 31 roses and say thank you for being there.

Ok let's try this again. I went to Winnipeg in mid winter to celebrate my 30th with my friend and her family. Her then six year old made my day by saying oh auntie Liz your cake is on fire. (out of the mouths of Babes).
As I remember we went out to dinner with some of her friends, got home in time to watch the Olympics from Sarajevo.
I think all birthdays ending in zeros are important and should be celebrated with your friends /family.
It ushers in a new decade , a time to discover more about yourself and to grow. Thirty is not the end of the world , 90 may be .

My wife threw me a "Reverse Direction" Birthday Party - figuring I would never turn 30, but instead do a U-Turn and start getting younger (and I suppose more immature. She was right. I got a motorcycle.)
Everyone wore their clothes on backwards. The cake was frosted and then stuck upside down on the platter, the candles were stuck in upside down and she played a .wav file of the Swedish Chef from the Muppets singing "Happy Birthday" because she said it sounded like playing a record backwards.
I was laughing so hard, beer came out my nose.

It was my best birthday ever, and I haven't really celebrated it since.
I was with a few really close friends in Mombasa, Kenya, where I used to live every year for the winter months, and we went to the Tamarind Restaurant, which I love, and the band played Malaika for me two times and the food and wine were superb, as always.
Anybody who goes to Kenya must try any or all of the following:-
Tamarind Nairobi
Carnivore Nairobi
Tamarind Mombasa
Tamarind Dhow Mombasa
Enjoy............

I appeared live on national TV in the UK (BBC1 National Lottery Live). Then I went to a bar in Camden, London, England, where I drank heavily and got off with a girl in leather pants (trousers).

My closest girlfriends and I did a breakfast... we met at our favorite diner, had a huge breakfast, wore comfortable clothes (i think all of us had on sweats...) and we just sat back, enjoyed the time together & made new memories... later that day i went out with my boyfriend (now my fiance) and had a quiet dinner...

My boyfriend took me out for an amazing and romantic dinner at a fondue restaurant. We had a bottle of wine, cheese fondue, brooth fondue, and dessert fondue at a cozy little table for two.
It wasn't extravegant, but it was very special.
