Maybe a digital camera, or an iPod, or a gift card, or maybe a spa certificate for her an a few friends.
Happy birthday to your daughter =)

Since I really don't know too much about your daughter, I would say that she is beginning to experiment with make up, perfumes, wanting to be a bit older. I reccommend making an appointment at a make up counter and have them show her how to apply make-up that is best for her skin tone, and buy her a few items (don't forget to treat yourself!!!). Take her around the fragrance counters and help her find a fragrance. I love the idea of the gift cards so she can take her freinds to dinner and a movie as well....that way she will begin to feel a bit more independent. (a cute idea would be get her a new wallet, with the gift cards in it already). She is at the age where she is starting to experiment with things, and before she veers off to things that might be harmful to her, steer her on to the right track by helping her make good choices....ie: the ones above....Hope this helps!!! I hope she has a wonderful birthday!!!

Since she's starting out in the teens how about a little more responsibility. Give her something that says, " Your starting a your journey into becoming a young lady and I trust you". You know your daughter I'm sure you can think of something. For example maybe a piece of jewelry that belongs to you, you can pass onto her. Something sentimental it doesn't have to be jewelry. Most 12 year olds turning 13 want something digital, electronic, or grow-up. Check out her room or pay attention to something she talks about a lot. That means she's asking without saying it. Good luck and thanks for the points.

Maybe some movie tickets as well as a gift certificate for a pizza place or something. This way she can treat a friend or two to a movie and pizza - she'll feel really grown up paying for things on her own, and using gift certificates means that you'll know where she's going and what she'll be doing.

I would give her either....
1. an i-Pod
2. a cell phone
3. a shopping spree
4. a computer
5. money to buy new furniture/ paint her room (it's all about indiviudality)
6. a subscription to Teen Vogue or Teen People and a gift card to her favorite store (American Eage, Hollister, and Abercrombie & Fitch are big in the teen world)

Good luck! And tell her Happy Birthday for me!

I just turned 13 a few months ago and my parents got me lots of clothes from my favorite stores and a new bedroom set and a computer. My friends got me stuff from bath and body works and gift certificates to best buy for Cd's and to sephora for makeup and nail polish.

I agree with the majority about getting her a gift card or money. It will be a whole new phase for her, being a teenager so you can't be sure what she really likes. Or perhaps you can ask her what she wants and she might tell you. Good luck!

My daughter just turned 13 this summer. We had a "salon party" at a local hair salon where they did fancy hairdos for the girls and manicures and got to play with makeup for the afternoon. Then I gave her a makeup "starter kit" (tinted moisturizer, lip gloss, some fun eye colors, mascara). It was a totally fun girl time for her and her friends!
