I took the test for USPS employees on Sep.9, recently I received the mail from them. It says your Final Rating is 72.70.
My question is: Is 72.70 excellent? better? good? so-so? or no hope to be employed?

hey I also took the test like in February for them and got my 4 tests in lower 70's.
I asked the clerk at the USPS why it takes them so long to call me up and get the interview going,he said that I'm in the lowest possible ranking and that they first call people who are in the 90's,80's ranks,..he told me not to wait because I'll be waiting 10 years, just take another test when the next round comes around in a year or two and do better on it(get a study guide from a bookstore).
Best of Luck!!!!!!

Your score is in the lowest quadrant of passing scores. If the test you took was for a rural carrier relief position you will probably be hired. If it was for a city carrier or a clerk job, don't wait by the phone.

You might try calling the hiring and testing office if you are interested in a Christmas casual position. These jobs are temporary but pay quite well and might get your foot in the door if you are a hard worker.

You barely passed. How much hope you have depends on hiring needs in the future, and how many names are ahead of yours. You can call them and ask how far down the list are you, how long does your eligibility last, and how many people to they think they'll hire during that time. Also ask about extending your eligibility; I think they allow you to get one additional year just by asking.

70 is passing. 85 or better is recommended.
