Oh for Pete's sake. To listen to some of these people, you'd think you were made out of glass!

Your baby is well protected in there. Even if you were to fall down (and think about it: how many times have you fallen down directly on your belly in a haunted house?), your baby would likely be just fine. (My OB said I could play indoor soccer for as long as I wanted and felt comfortable, and I made it 6 months. She wasn't concerned about me falling.)

And a little scare isn't going to put you into premature labor, either, unless you're already at risk for it. Are you going to live in a bubble so you're never startled by the sound of a car backfiring or a sudden clap of thunder?

Be sensible. Stick up for yourself if you feel like something isn't right. And have fun.

Haunted Houses While Pregnant

I am 8 months pregnant and I would NOT suggest it. A lot of times at haunted houses, people bump pretty hard into you. Plus, being "scared" like that (more like "surprised") is NOT good when you are pregnant. You could possibly go into premature labor... and at that point in pregnancy, its rare for a baby to survive labor. I say, dont risk it. Your baby is more important than having five minutes of fun. I don't even know if they would even let you in to tell you the truth (if you are obviously pregnant to others).

If its one that is being thrown at someones house and its really crappy....... maybe *maybe* you could go. But if its one that is really set up that you have to pay to go too... I say hold off until next year!

I would not recommend it. I have been in those haunted houses and sometimes people get so upset and begin running, or backing up and running into someone. They could knock you over. Plus there will be a lot of screaming and 'things' pulling at you. I would definitely not go.

I went when I was pregnant with my son, and I was fine, but then again, I don't scare easily and I was with a large group of people who were protecting me from getting bumped in to.

If it's just going to be you and your man, it probably isn't a great idea. If you're going to go in a large group, as long as you're in the middle, and that group is watching out for your pregnant belly (and as long as you don't scare easily), it should be okay.

depends on the person. If you handle those situations well then it probably wouldn't phase you. If not, or have high blood pressure or any thing else that would cause concern then I would just stay home with a scary movie.

NO I would not suggest that you go.
When you become pregnant you are responsible for some one else too. I know they are fun. But too many things can go wrong.
Maybe you should ask your doctor and see what he says, you ask us, and all we can give you are our opinions. Talk to your doctor, they can give a clear answer with a reason.

I would not- you can't control "others" actions and may hurt yourself or the baby. ANY accident is not worth that- your precious as is your baby. INSTEAD- Have a classic horror movie night at home! Like Vincent Price old black and whites....

Happy Halloween.

I WOULD NOT ADVISE YOU TO GO A HAUNTED HOUSE BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN STARTLED TO THE POINT OF BEING KNOCKED DOWN OR EVEN WORSE. SO IF YOU ARE GOING TO GO, YOU REALLY NEED TO BE CAREFUL. THAT IS JUST AS DANGEROUS AS RIDING A ROLLERCOASTER WHILE PREGNANT.
