I want to know if there is a way to find out the IP address of a person opening up an e-mail sent out by a yahoo account, and then recieved by another yahoo account. So far I have tried embedding an image into the e-mail that is hosted on my personal web server, so when they open the e-mail I find out the IP. But the problem with that is that Yahoo automatically dumps an e-mail with an embedded image into the bulk folder.

Any one have any other ideas?

You can traces incoming mails but not outgoing because you have no control over it. There is a setting in Mail that allow you to view Full Heading that should includes the IP address from the sender.

If you have a web server, create a site that logs IP of visitors (search google and you should get plenty of results) and tell them to click the link. Also, if they are naive, tell them to visit ipchicken.com and write down the big numbers in the middle. :)
