Probably not. The most likely candidate is Hilary Clinton, whom most liberals can't stand, conservatives hate even more, and even moderates seem to distrust.

There are still a lot of people out there who do not believe a woman could lead, or would be "too weak" to make harsh desicions such as going to war.

Then there are the people who just don't believe women are equal, period.

Condeleeza Rice blew most of her credibility with her changing reasons for the Iraq war (first it was WMDs, then is was the FAKE Al-Qaidsa-Saddam link, then it was "reshaping the Middle East for Democracy")

- andshe blew the rest of it during the Lebanon crisis during which the Lebanese government asked her please not to come to their country.

I just want a leader who is competent, compassionate, and intelligent. Male or female. black or white.

Jon Edwards grew up poor....so I'd love to see him in the White House...what a change that would be!!!!

Considering that the only ones being mentioned are Rice and Clinton, I hope not. Rice is one of the reasons the country is where it is right now, and Clinton listens to her advisors too much. Besides, New York likes her as a senator and she's doing some good there.

Does it matter what gender our president is? I couldn't care less what gender, race, orientation, or religion a candidate may be, if he/she is the right person for the job.
