I need to put up a pergola and can't decide which one to get. There are so many to choose from. I've been searching the web for about a week now and have narrowed it down to at least 3 sites. In any event a kit may or may not satisfy the exact purpose, dimensions and appearance you have in mind. You can fabricate yourself from PT lumber and suit you specific needs. You can rent the saws and nailers required, and save much money.

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and find out when they are planning to have a demonstration class. Attend that and then decide whether you want to do this. The hardest part is all of that lifting for rafters, etc.
