1. Make sure you do not click on ANY e-mail link that LOOKS like they are from eBay.
2. Change passwords every once in awhile.
3. Do not pay by check or write your address on the money order unless you have a P.O.Box on the check.
4. Bookmark the www.ebay.com website so you can return to it safely.
5. Do not make any transaction unless you see the little security padlock on your browser. This means you have a secure connection transmission.
6. Do not EVER give out your password to ANYONE - eBay personnel are trained to never request it.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, the #1 reason why eBay accounts get hijacked...phony e-mail:
NEVER respond to an unsolicited e-mail message from eBay! There are some that have fooled millions of people> They have the eBay logos, stationary, even the words in the message address. THEY ARE FAKE and many contain spyware, keyloggers, virus, account hijackers!
The only e-Bay message that is legitimate will be copied into your eBay mailbox - all member accounts will have one -a copy will go to your private mailbox, if so desired.. Look there if you suspect that an e-mail is suspicious. eBay personnel will NEVER ask for your password - unless they are assisting you with it. Then if you do give it to then, change it immediately!

First of all, if you are not, use Mozilla Firefox. It is less targeted by hackers, therefore more secure. Next, obviously don't give your Id and Password to anyone, even a friend because they might write it down somewhere and someone else could read it (happened to me before). Lastly, if you are not the only user on the computer, don't save the password in your browser, enter it manually every time. These three things will keep you away from 99% of problems with identity theft. Keep ebaying! :)

eBay is the largest online marketplace and one of the most popular ways to earn an income from home with a PC and internet connection. Selling on eBay is inexpensive and easy to start. Ebay has a number of tools for sellers to maximise sales. These are eBay Pulse, Hot items report, merchandising calendar. By sourcing products at a low price, you can increase your profit. use PayPal....it's a seperate secure site that processes your sales and purchases. It is secured by a password and no one can ever access it. When a purchase or sale is made, it automatically goes through this secure site, pretty much elimininating all chances of theft. I use it all the time and have never had a problem :)

Some sellers say that they dont prefer paypal or any other payment facility hence might ask you to email them your credit card info. THis can potentially be maniupulated to apply for new less desirble and less popular credit cards. For example getting store cards are easier than getting a chase credit card. Beware.
