The best band of all time would have to be Pink Floyd. They were absolutely revolutionary in there music, had one of the top selling albums of all time, and were lyrical and musical masters. Currently, the greatest band is, in my opinion, Modest Mouse. Their music is unlike that of any others, and while it may be difficult for some to get into their music, they are really good. Isaac Brock is also one of the must brilliant and underrated songwriters alive.

Ironic that "Tell Me Why" should be part of your question! How many bands have had 23 number ones in eight years or have held down the top five spots in the same week? The Beatles...that's who...and that's why.

Ever? I can only pick one? I would have to say the Stones, only because they are legends and still out there creating and performing. Led Zeppelin is up there with the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Grateful Dead, etc.
