Last nite I saw a question on answers stating all Republicans are child molesters. I know of one Democratic congressmen (who is still there) who is gay and was found to have used page boys & his driver to pimp for him . Allthe Democrates did was make him stand before the House & promise not to do it again. This happened 20 years ago.At least the Republican resigned,

Democrats believe since the Republican say they have values they have to live up to a higher standard. This is a ridiculous argument because that implies the Democrats have no values and can do whatever the heck they want. Priceless.

Unfortunately it's because this is an election year! EVERYONE should be ticked that somebody knew this was going on with Foley at least as far back as 3 years ago, but they kept the info quiet until now. While it does hurt Florida's chances of voting a republican into office (can't change the ballot within 4 weeks of an election), we have to think about the kids! Whoever held onto the info for 3 years has ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN ALL THIS TIME, and for what? Assuming it was a democrat - TO GIVE THEIR PARTY AN EDGE THIS ELECTION! For not coming forward back when this seems to have started, the ENABLER - for whatever reason be it private or political, should be facing some jail time as well!

Democrat or Republican, rich or poor, the dregs of society exist in all groups!

The Congressman you're referring to was Barney Frank, who is still in Congress. Apart from that, the other poster got the facts basically right.

It is not credible that the Republican leadership knew about this but the media have only recently found out. For one thing, it's IM's that are the major evidence in the case. As pretty much everyone knows, IM's are not exactly permanent, yet some of the IM's being presented are three years old. To believe that the media only recently got wind of this is to believe that someone knew about it three years ago, chose to hold on to the IM's, and only recently let them out. I don't see how Republicans would gain by something like that. Either someone with something to gain right now would do that, or the media decided to hold on to the story for three years. Take your choice - simple reason says that someone other than the Republican leadership knew about this.

And, by the way - it's worth pointing out that no one, including conservatives, is arguing that Foley should remain in Congress. The man is a slug. His lawyer is claiming that there was never any sexual contact between Foley and the pages, and I couldn't care less. He's resigned, he's gone, and he'll face prosecution. I'm content with that. It's just that the timing is a bit suspect.

I am so sick of this childish B.S. from so many of you supposedly grown up people , every time you open this site the main issue is between Dem's and Rep's , any one who has any sense knows they are both the same , and both are elected by the Jewish media T,V, News papers etc, both are liars , thieves, probable a lot more if the truth is known, so why don't you take a pill and go to sleep it will be over soon, as we will lose what few rights we have left and then we won't worry about voting etc, it is useless now because Dem's and rep's are all as one but, keep **** stirred up to keep your mind off of what is really important, and so many of you are so scared you will lose your vote a 3rd party won't ever get a chance , because you idiots don't even know when you vote, as it is, you have already lost your vote, I am glad I am a old man and hopefully won't be around to see how you idiots will suffer after I have fought so hard for you to be free,

Nothing is worse than an unimformed half-baked question. The democratic congressman in 1983 was not accused of molesting anyone. He had a relationship with a former page when he was an adult. The page appeared with him and testified to the fact. That particular congressman refused to apologize and was a congress member for 20 more years before retiring. So, the cases are not at all the same except for the matter of the guys involved were former pages.

True. People need to remember that party affiliation is only one part of a person's identity. When the two major parties represent about 40 million voting Americans each, there are bound to be some low-lifes in each party. Elected officials, while held to a higher standard, are still human and some have allowed the darkest of human demons to take over their lives.

Wow I laughed at that. There are just as many democrat molesters as republican. Its the people not the political party that chooses what they do.

if foley had been a democrat, they would have tarred and feathered him...by the way, the only reason foley resigned was because the party leaders couldn't keep a lid on the story anymore...they've known since '05, and did NOTHING until the story leaked to the media...thank God it wasn't faux news that initially got the story, or it would still be under wraps...

It's an election season. Do you really think democrats actually even care about the health of this teenage page? All they're talking about is how this will help them come November.

The republican resigned because he was told to do so. If you think anything otherwise you are a fool.
