Officially it was stated that they would never release the tape, but you can bet someone will get their hands on it and it will show up on the internet.

Probably not. I think it was used as evidence, carefully tracked for privacy, then I heard it was going to be destroyed.
Poor Terri, she is so strong, and adorable daughter Bindi Sue. Get her eulogy on youtube if you haven't seen it, I was moved to tears.
Btw *snicker* to the conspiracy theorist who posted above about Steve being on an island still alive somewhere - no way.
PS. There are spoofs popping up on youtube of something blurry going on underwater, don't believe them as fact!

I think it should be released thoogh, steve irwin said himself in quotes that if anyone bad happend to him he would like the camera crew to keep rolling and record it, and release it. I probably wouldn't watch it because i'll have a heart attack seeing someone die.

His wife said she didn't ever want it released. I think her wishes should be honored.
I think that it's really macabre that so many people want to see it. This is real life - why do people want to watch someone die? Have we become so numbed by all the violence we see on TV and experience in video games that we need to see the real thing? The man is dead - can't he be allowed to rest in peace?

How can they release the death tape if he isnt dead? For real, who dies like that?? I think that mr.Seve realized he wanted to be out of the public eye and is now laughing it up on some island somewhere.

No they are not. Terri Erwin was interviewed and said it would not be released because it serves no purpose in being shown.
And since she is the widow, they are honoring her wishes.

I hope not. For the sake of his family and children. It will turn into an online frenzy on youtube or myspace. I think it would be very disrespectful.

i do not think so...i think they said it was to bad for them to release...and out of respect they are not going to release it...but who knows what they may change their mind...it was a terrible thing to happen to his wife and family and those that loved him....
