Sounds like two seperate problems, but your main brakes is probably a booster is not working.

brake booster gone bad, start the engine and pull the hose going to the booster loose and see if it alters the engine idle ifso booster is working fine. check for leaks around the inside of the 4 wheels.

Just a couple of things left out? year make model and miles Yamster Mechanics do not like to guess! When how and what happen recently?
