'...people ask me if I'm an optimistist... I say "I hope so!"...'

[love your work, Bill!]

ps. the saying 'if you're given lemons, make lemonade" has always bugged me. why do things always have to have a silver lining? why can't some things just be cr@p?!

but i'm not a pessimist, just a realist... lol!

I am an optimist. My boyfriend balances me. He is a pessimist. Sometimes that brings me a little down. Sometimes it makes me more realistic. Sometimes an optimist will see the world through rose colored glasses and live in a fantasy world. Honestly, sometimes, I like living in a fantasy. It's easier than reality. Optimists see the way things could be or should be rather than are. We are the catalysts of change. Of course, if it weren't for my optimism, he wouldn't have received a new job with entitlement priviledges. I convinced him he was worth it. Although, I think he always knew it, he just needed someone to point it out.

Often times, optimists are seen as immature because of our high expectations. I don't believe that's the case. You can be optimistically realistic. Also, I think realism is a middle ground. between optimists and pessimists. Realists sit kind of in the middle.

You are definitely an optimist.
You believe you can write a whole entire essay, even though your english writing skills are rudimentary and you have no ideas of your own.

I was once asked on a quiz what the 7 wonders of the world were. My answer was that they were to be able to see, hear, taste, touch, smell, love and laugh. If you can do all those things, you have the wonder of the world around you and in you I can' think of anything more optomistic than that.

write about how you can see the good in any situation, even if overall the sitation may be sad or unfortunate. give examples (like, we lost our soccer game, but now we're all motivated to work and practice even harder). you start the day looking at it as a new beginning, rather than thinkinbg "here we go again..."

that's the right attitude, if you ask me!

good luck!
