I need you to tell me how to get it. you can give the answer too for me to check, but mostly i need to know how to get the problem.

ok....
The directions are
First draw a diagram. Then answer the question.

43) If sin angle A = 3/5 and cos angle A = 4/5 what is the tan of angle A?

Thank you

remeber. tell me how to get the answer. Thankx

Construct a right triangle...

Remember SOHCAHTOA

Sin = opposite/hyp

Cos = Adjacent/Hyp

Tan = Opposite/Adj

In your case, Sin A = 3/5, and Cos A = 4/5

On the right triangle put a 3 opposite angle A (remember angle A is not the 90 degree angle, it's the angle opposite that angle)...The side opposite angle A would be the height of the triangle. Now put a 5 on the hypotenuse.

Cos A = 4/5 (remember cos = adj/hyp) Sooo, Put a 4 Adjacent to angle A, and a 5 on the hyp, which we already did with Sin...

Now tan = opp/adj

Just look what values we have for those locations

opp = 3
Adj = 4

Soooo, tan A = 3/4 which is the opposite/adjacent

Since tanA = sinA / cosA, you simply divide:

tanA = (3/5)/(4/5) = 3/4.

The diagram is just the 3-4-5 right triangle,
with angle A opposite the side of length 3.

tan A = sin A / cos A
= (3/5) / (4/5)
= (3/5) * (5/4)
tan A = 3/4

Horse Lover: Tangent is defined as

tan (A) = sin(A) / cos(A)
= 3/5 * 5/4 = 3/4

Note that sin^2(A) + cos^2(A) = 1
9/25 + 16/25 = 25/25 = 1

Good luck!

tan(angle)=sin(angle)/cos(angle), so, sin(angle) divided by cos(angle), which turns out to be 3/5 divided by 4/5, and the result is 3/4 (0.75).

Hope I've helped on something.

In trigonometry, it is taught that tan(x) = sin(x)/cos(x). So, to achieve your answer, you should divide the sine of a by the cosine of a.
