Im 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I have been dialted at 2 and 70% effaced for a week now. This is my second pregnancy. They did a non-stress test Sun. and said that Im having contractions that are only lasting for 23 to 24 sec. just enough to get on my nerves. The Dr. gave me tylenol for my back pain and sent me home. When will they keep me and break my water or do something to move this along.

Even though u are considered *full term* doctors like to get the pregnancy to go for 40 weeks or as close to it as they can. I had a woman come to my job at 3 cents dialated and walking around like nothing. They will only admit u if u are bleeding or if u have really bad pressure in your vaginal area. If they check u at your next week appt and u are at least 4 cent then they will prob admit you. Try some walking or a very light jogging around your street or maybe just in your living room, light cleaning and lots of walking can do a lot to progress labor, if u can tolderate it have some sexual intercourse. These two things will surely get u on your way I almost guarantee it.
Good Luck!! =)

They will not admit you until you are close to your due date or when you are having serious labor. You still have 3 weeks to go until you are at your due date and until your contractions are strong enough or regular enough they will not break your water. If they broke your water you would have to have the baby within 24 hours to avoid an infection to your baby. If your contractions aren't strong enough and they broke your water and you don't progress they would have to do a C- section and that means some serious recovery time. Be patient the baby will come soon or the doctor will induce. Your labor at this point may be braxton hicks. They like for you to be 4 cm dialated before you are admitted. Also, if you are not bleeding or feeling any vaginal pressure then the baby may not even be in the birth canal to be delivered yet.

Usually they will not admit you until you are in true labor and the pains are very strong or there is a problem, such as your water breaks on its own and contractions don['t start, bleeding, etc..
The last couple of weeks are the toughest- I've gone through it 4 times now- but you will get through it. If you really can't stand it, you can talk to yor doctor about inducing labor. I did this with my last baby in May and he was born 4 1/2 hours after the meds started. Good luck and congrats!!

In response to another suggestion on here. Sex and nipple stimulation actually works. If you think about it you natuarlly contract down there ;-) and it helps your muscles relax enough to start contractions. It is probably the last thing on your mind but it does help and it does wonders for the mind if your other half gives you the attention at this point. It lets you know you are still one hot sexy woman!

I had the same exact problem I had them speed up the process because the hospital were I wanted to give birth was 1 hour away so they induced me . It was great! It took awhile but still I knew I was having that baby in 24 hours. GOOD LUCK!

Probably not until you're at least 4 cm dilated. Try doing squats it will help you dilate enough so that either things will speed up on their own or you'll be admitted and they'll speed things up for you.

well if the contractions do not progress they will eventually admitt you but try the old fashion idea of walking it helps the baby drop and tends to increase speed and severity of the contractions good luck

the undeniable fact that the H1N1 vaccines is a generic flu vaccine with H1N1 viral proteins extra potential that it is going to likely be in simple terms as risk-free. And in case you examine heavily, they are actually not liberating it without sorting out. they are liberating it with much less sorting out than is nicely-known. considering the fact that no flu vaccine in over a decade has failed risk-free practices tests, it rather is sensible to anticipate that this one will bypass besides. it rather is nicely well worth the prospect to keep away from a worsening of the rising pandemic, and it rather is nicely well worth the prospect to keep away from deaths from mutations of this virus that advance its virulence. people who get carry of the vaccine might nonetheless have some risk-free practices against a mutant tension, in simple terms like people who have been contaminated with a miles less virulent version of the 1918 flu virus have been much less liable to the extra virulent mutant that killed tens of millions.
