Yes! Marriage can easily be saved by counseling as long as both parties are willing to participate. Too many times communication is between two people are swept away which causes heartache and resentment. Having a third party involved (a counselor) can help mend the communication gap and the two of you can will re-learn to communicate again!

Marriage counsoling saved my parents marraige~when I was little my parents faught a lot~they were always angry and hurt~of course being a child you don't understand on why they fight~you just remember that they did~my parents had went away for a weekend into marriage incounter program~then they had went back again for over a week~at the time I did not realize that they were getting help to work out their marriage~but now I know the weeks that they were gone together were not a vacation away from the children~the marraige incounter program works with couples at days/nights at a time~the couples stay in there hotel set up~in seperate rooms with other couples going through similar problems, they have meetings with just the wives and with just husbands and then they have meetings all together~they do group theropy as well as individual~my parents had to sleep in separate bed rooms for their intire stay~until the very last night~they had to write letters to eachother on what upset them about their marriage and what hurt them in their marraige~they had to write love letters and try to rekindel the spark from the begining of their marraige~
my parents are going on their 25th wedding anniversary in December~they are also~leaving us kids and becoming snow birds (travel to warm places through out the winter)......this is there first time leaving our home to actaully vacation with eachother~they have a wonderful marraige and talk about everyting~there has not been screaming matches between them in over 15 years~I honestly believe that this saved their marraige~

I have heard rumors that sometimes marriages are saved that way. The thing is that you BOTH must want to work to save the marriage and you MUST find a counselor who understands how it feels to be in a marriage that is failing.

Nope can not get my husband to go and get some help...He will not talk to anyone. Told him it is not normal to be so wrapped up in himself and that he really needed to talk to someone that can help him figure out why he is this way. He still has not gone.
