a) J.J. Thompson concluded that the light weight particles that he called electrons were negatively charged (They were deflected toward a Positively charged plate).

b) Robert Andrews Millikan concluded from his oil drop experiment, that all electrons had the same charge (now known to be 1,6021773*10^-19 coulombs).

c) Ernest Rutherford concluded from a alpha particle-gold foil experiment that the heavy (massive) part of the atom must not take up very much room in comparison to the size of the atom. The nucleus must therefore contain this concentrated mass with electrons surrounding it.
