Ok, I'm no good with interview questions and need some examples. I have mostly worked in the food service industry. This is a job at a hotel. I have some examples friends have been asked:

1. Tell me about a time where you failed
- I have not really failed much in a job.
2. Give me a time where you felt it was hard to keep moticated.
- cant think of anything
3. Tell me of a time where you had an idea and fostered it into a previous situation related to an assignment?
4 Tell me about a time where you worked with somebody who had opposite values as you. What did you do?
- never had this happen, but i know it gets asked a lot

I've worked in HR. The example questions are typical of what HR interviewers ask, but I don't know that they would ask these questions of a food service worker. The questions really are better for technical and managerial people. If you're in food service mangement, then you can expect to get asked these types of questions.

1. Question 1--you say you've never failed? Man, everyone on earth fails at many things--unless you are a George Bush type who can't admit to any failure. Have you ever made a mistake? Ever tried anything that didn't work out? It doesn't have to be work-related necessarily, it could be anything. Ever tried to climb a mountain and gave up? Ever tried to paint a ceiling, but couldn't? Ever tried to date a girl, but chickened out? Surely there is something at which you failed or made a mistake. Talk about how you responded to the failure/mistake--did you cry, pout, dust yourself off and tried again? We're trying to find out about your character.

2. So, you've always been motivated? Never got tired and just wanted to quit? Never felt bored? Never felt restless? Wow, you must be superman. Why on earth do you need a job? Why not just leap tall buildings and save the world from disaster? Let me tell you, EVERYONE loses ther motivation at some time or another.

3. Well? Never had an idea? Never made a suggestion? Never said to anyone, let's do this, or let's do it this way? Are you sure you're alive?

4. You've never had a personlity conflict? No one ever made you angry or frustrated? Never had an argument with someone with different political or religious or social views than your own? Gosh, where do you live anyway? Must be somewhere out of this world.

Here are some questions that I use in interviews:

What do you know about our company?

Why do you want to work for us?

Which adjectives would you use to describe yourself?

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Why do you want to leave your current job? (Why did you leave your last job?)

Give an example of when you had to work with someone who was difficult to get along with. Why was this person difficult? How did you handle that person? Is there anything you would have done differently in hindsight?

Describe a situation where you found yourself dealing with someone who didn't like you. How did you handle it?

Was there an occasion when you disagreed with a supervisor's decision or company policy? Describe how you handled the situation.

Describe a situation where others you were working with on a project disagreed with your ideas. What did you do?

What are the typical customer interactions you have in your present position? Can you think of a recent example of one of these?

Tell of the most difficult customer service experience that you have ever had to handle -- perhaps an angry or irate customer. Be specific and tell what you did and what was the outcome.

Describe a situation in which you found that your results were not up to your supervisor's expectations. What happened? What action did you take?

Tell of a time when you worked with a colleague who was not completing their share of the work. Who, if anyone, did you tell or talk to about it? Did the manager take any steps to correct your colleague? Did you agree or disagree with the manager's actions?

What are your three most important work related values? Provide an example of a situation in which you demonstrated these values.

What kind of supervisor do you work best for? Provide examples.

Where do you see yourself five (ten or fifteen) years from now?

When we call your previous employer or references what are they likely to tell us in regards to your dependability/attendance?

Tell me about a time when you had to go above and beyond the call of duty to get a job done.

Have you gone above and beyond the call of duty? If so, how?

Here in all of these questions the Employer is asking about your integrity and ability to improvise in a situation when necessary .The other is are you self motivated ?
These are the main values that The interviewer are looking for .
If you are upstanding , and a hard worker willing to take over a situation if asked to then you will have no problem .

Those are some really horrific answers bro. If I were interviewing you I'd wonder if you had any brain cells left.

#1: Question does not limit you to "In job" answers. And Everyone Fails from time to time.

#2: Oh, hello, School? That 10 page english paper on that really boring subject? Everyone lacks motivation at times.

#3: I can't really work this one out. hehe.

#4: Cop out... Bleah.

In fact all your answers are cop out answers. Go look for another job, because I'm not hiring you.
