Yes, most home pregnancy tests are quite accurate, but they are not 100%, and do occasionally give a false negative result (reading negative when there really is a pregnancy). These types of results are especially common very early in the pregnancy because the levels of beta HCG (the hormone that it's testing for) are still relatively now. The levels rise quickly though, and so if you really think you're pregnant despite a negative test, wait a bit and try again, each test should be able to tell you by what date (from the last missed menstrual period) it is most accurate.

It is very possible that a pregnancy test be negative especially earlier in the pregnancy. The best time to take one is the first urine out in the morning. Even though there are lots that say you can take them anytime you'll have less of a chance to get a negative results because the consentration of the hCG hormone is too low for the test to detect it. Wait a few days and take another one if you're really suspect you're pregnant, or just go in and get a blood test to find out for sure. Incidently it's much more common for false positives than false positives because the test detects a hormone that is released in pregnancy (but there are some things like cancer that can cause false positives)

It could be possible if you took the pregnancy test to early for it to read any type of pregnancy signs. Most of the time though if you take it at the right time, the answer is 99% change correct.

yeah it is possible but VERY unlikely. the pregnancy test looks for a specific hormone only made in the body during pregnancy, thus making it super reliable

when I got pregnant with my son, I took 5 tests that came up neg. BUt my sister went to the dollar store and bought me one 2 weeks later, it came up positive. So, yes it is possible. call your local womans clinic, and go up there. Those are far more accurate.

yea, it happened to me. You may not be far enough along for the hormones to be strong enough to vailidate a home pregnancy test. if you are convinced your prego, then go to the dr and ask for a blood test to confirm your negitive. good luck.

Yes, they aren't 100% accurate. They read the pregnancy chemical in your urine and sometimes your urine will have more of the chemical in it one time and less of the chemical in it another time. Go see an OBGYN.
