i just went to jiffy lube and they said they added 7.9 quarts. isn't that a bit much?

well yes, depending on the engine size, i think the most i would put is about 5 and a half to6 quarts, check the owners manual for proper info, never top off an engines oil supply!!!! bad for the car..

4 quarts if you did not change the oil filter, 5 quarts if you did.

depends on the type of oil pan you have on it. its usually 5 quarts with new oil filter.
