Anywhere that I go anymore the customer service sucks. If the attendant isn't talking to another associate she's playing with her cell phone and only half @ss paying attention to me. Do these people forget that it's the consumer that keeps them employed? Do they forget that they're the one's who applied for the job and it's not like McDonald's went out and headhunted them? Customer service sucks everywhere now, especially places where the associate is NOT on commission, but even the places who's people work on commission suck because the attendant put's a dollar amount on you before you even have the chance to tell him what you might buy.

You are absolutely correct! I am in a customer service based industry and am on commission. My co-workers do not seem to care either. The ppl at the stores really tick me off too. They make 7-8 dollars an hour to act like an a$$. Makes me wonder what tard (dee dee dee) hired these ppl in the first place!!

I think perhaps it is a matter of work ethics and up bringing.

I agree!! Today my cat walked across my keyboard and my display turned to landscape! I couldn't read the screen and didn't know how to fix it.

I called my computer manufacturer and it took OVER 1 HOUR for the technician to tell me the fix was to "hold down the Control key and the ALT key and press the up arrow key." The solution was that simple!! But she had to have my code, the address to which the computer was shipped, and all kinds of unnecessary information, even after she verified that my warranty was good. She even had me on hold over 10 minutes to get a "case number." What a waste of my time! If I could have seen what was on my monitor without having to turn it on its side, I would have asked for help through Yahoo!

Of course, Your attitude has absolutely nothing to do with the way you are treated! If you are polite, and smile, people will respond in kind. If you expect to be treated like a queen, good luck, You aren't one, and as a former retail worker, I have to say that there ar more of the latter than former these days. Retail workers are over worked, and underpaid. Customers blame them for items being out of stock and yell at them. People expect one sales associate to know where everything in the store is, and the cost. then you demand a discount because you had to find it yourself. You want better service? treat the staff better, and when someone goes out of their way to do something specifically for you, tell their manager.instead of just complaining

I agree. Start a small business that excels in customer service and you'll be ahead of them.

I have been in customer service most of my life.
I still am. I am looking for a new way to make a living because most people are ignorant, rude and demanding.
When I worked as a waitress I have had people burp in my face, and snap their fingers at me. I have been called a ***** when I refused to serve a drunk any more alcohol.
When I worked at a doctor's office I have had people yell at me on the phone and drum their fingers on the counter when I did not check them in quick enough.
Maybe that's why people get such crappy service. You deserve it!!
