First understand if you have moderate to severe acne you just cant "get rid" of your acne. You can treat it not cure it. Second you need to know the best acne fighter is your own body not these harsh chemicals people tell you to put on your face. Try this if you have some acne creams with Benzoyl Peroxide or anything like that rub some of it into a wash cloth one night and when you wake up you will see a big bleach stain where you left it.

So to treat your acne. You need three things a "VERY GENTLE" face wash(Cetaphil Gentle Wash is great), a spf 15 sun screen that has a label on that says "Non-Cosmetic" and last but not least a oral medication(Doxycycline, Accutane, etc)

Ok for the gentle face wash. You want a gentle one because acne can be really irrated to these other harsh soaps and really all you are doing is making acne worse. So get the gentle face wash and still wash gently dont rub hard. Second people say wash twice a day NO! That is too much unless you have very oily skin. If you have moderate skin then just wash your face at night and that is it. If you have VERY oily skin then wash after school or after work during the afternoon and then again at night.

Sunscreen. What people dont know is sun is a big part of the formation of acne. Sun damages the skin drying it out which is the main cause for acne so sunscreen helps.

Then the oral medication. You cant just go to your nearest drug store to get some you have to go to a dermotoligist to have them perscribed to you. I suggest doxycycline it works wonders for me. The reason why you should get oral meds is because it works inside out without putting harmful chemicals on your face.

If you stay with gently washing your face once a day, wearing sunscreen on sunny days, and take a oral medication perscribed by your dermotoligist for at least two months then i garentee you your acne will look 90% clearer. Remember you cant Cure your acne you can only treat it.

Good Luck

First, go to a dermatologist. There has been great success with a prescription cream called Retina A. There is no need to suffer this terrible skin problem. As for people who tell you it's food related, they are wrong. Most recent research does not connect acne with spices, chocolate, etc. That's an old wives' tale. It is a skin condition caused by too much sebum being produced and is similar to another condition wrongly diagnosed as dandruff. Any dermatologist can help you live a better life by fixing acne breakouts. Good luck to you and don't suffer another day more.

There's really no way to get rid of acne. You can use a regimen that helps to keep it under control (I use Oxy10, a toner and an oil-free moisturizer), you can spend tons of money on something like ProActive that says it will get rid of it and it doesn't always, or if you're a girl, you can get on birth control. If you do that use a very low dosage.
Only use Accutane if nothing else works, and consider it a long time before you take it. The effects of Accutane are more than just having deformed kids--you can get depressed, become anorexic or bulemic and can have suicidal thoughts. Talk to a doctor before you get on that.

You can try using creams & cleansers (sp) especially for acne. If you have acne, try asking your doctor about what to do to make it go away. If you have a few pimples, it's not acne because everyone gets some once in a while. Just try keeping your face clean.

I mostly use Clean&Clear stuff. I have Morning Burst Scrub, in the shower in the morning I put it on a washcloth & clean my face with that. (Using a washcloth makes the dead skin cells go away.) & then before I go to bed I clean my face with the deep cleanser (but no wash cloth, just my hands), and then put moisturizer on.

Hope that helps.

It depends, how old are you? and how bad in the acne?
when i was a teen i took care of my face by using different products that you can get anywhere and tried to keep it under control.
But as i got older my acne didn't go away like it should have, and i was treated by a dermatologist.
And now it's finally gone, my skin looks great.

in order to get rid of acne, you need to clean your face, and use medication. There are many from which you can choose. I;ve tried proactiv and it totally helped, but i still got large pimples from time to time. Now, i use Clearasil Ultra vanishing cream and use it twice a day (use lotion too) My skin is super clear!
