Caitlin is really insecure, and i know this for a fact because she's always talking about how she hates being fat.
so today i was developing my film in the dark room when i was telling meghan that i had only 2 minutes left until i was done mixing the chemicals. [meghan wanted to know because she had to wait a minute after mine] so then caitlin out of no where says "OMGSH JENNY UR GAY" for no reason at all. she does this a lot. and it's not that it's embaressing, it's just really really annoying. then the dark room got all quite and i think people were waiting for me to say something...but i didn't i just let it go like i normally do. but seriously, i need something to say when she says that...any suggestions!? she says it ALL the time, and i think it's so that she can look better in front of others...[surprising she used to be one of my best friends.........thats a different story.]

Dude just tell her she needs to grow up and stop acting like an immature douche!! Let her know that your not gonna take her Sh*t anymore....but dont let her know thats she is gettin to you cause then it will just be a thrill for her....I dunno im usually passive but i would prolly say something along the lines of " Yeah ok, and your really cool Caitlin, i just love how you like to be an annoying loud mouth cause everyone really loves that about people" then i would prolly say something along the lines of grow up and get a life....

In my opinion, just ignore her. If you do for a while, she'll most definately stop. Don't show any reaction, annoyance, or emotion when she says anything. It's human nature to shut up if no reaction or annoyance is seen...trust me ;]. You could try saying, as sweetly as possible, let the venom drip from the back of your words....."Caitlin, honey, you should know by now that you can't build yourself up by trying to knock me down. " Or alternatively..." Don't YOU just wish!" then laugh it off.

You could say "well you're fat". That would shut her up. That would be as rude as her though. You're above that. Why don't you just ask her what her problem is? In private or as loud as her. Either way it might embarass her enough to shut her up.
