The age of consent in Washington DC is 16. Is it inappropriate to run around calling Foley a pedophile? Is this controversy partly because he's homosexual?

Of course it is because he's a homosexual. The Republican Party is so Anti-gay that attacking Foley clearly illustrates the hypocrisy of it all. The fact that the youths involved were under 18 merely makes the story more lewd. Considering the Republican tendancy towards prudery, it again high-lights their double standard.
