Man, that's a toughy! I grew up on the Beatles and went through all their changes...
Hey Jude -- gotta go with the classic, and the at that time longest hit single ever to hit the US airwaves (topped off with that longest sustained chord at the end.)
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Something (in the way she moves)" are two of my fave ballads.
But the Beatle had such a vast repertoire, and so many styles...as evidenced in the "White" Album -- the album about which I always say ...'if I was going to be stuck on a desert island with only one album, I'd take the White Album....'
George and John were the heart and soul. I miss them both!!!

Revolution!!!! That song says it all! It rocked then and it still does. This was the first overtly political Beatles song. It was John Lennon's response to the Vietnam War.
John Lennon wrote it while he and the Beatles were at a transcendental meditation camp with The Maharishi.

In response to previous answers:
"Imagine" was not a Beatles song, it was a John Lennon one.
"Northern Wood" is probably better known as "Norwegian Wood"
I'll go for any one of their songs, they're all good.
Perhaps "Here comes the sun" because of its memories.
New question, best album? I'll put it to the panel.

Something, Northern Wood and anything George Harrison. He was the second genius behind the band, not useless pop icon silly-boy Paul McCartney. "Simply having a wonderful Christmas Time".
