People, you are straight up rude for saying things like terrorists. Just because of their religious beliefs you do that. You should respect everyone's beliefs no matter what, dang. I'm only 13 and I know better than that.

But thanks to everyone who answered (the right answer)!

Imam

Imam (Arabic: إمام ,Persian: امام ) is an Arabic word meaning "Leader". The ruler of a country might be called the Imam, for example. However, the capitalized term or The Imam (Arabic: الإمام) has important connotations in the Islamic tradition especially in Shia
The Shi'a believe that The Imam is someone who is able to lead mankind in all aspects of life. In addition they believe that an Imam is a perfect example in everything. According to Shi'a, an Imam is a leader that must be followed since he is appointed by Allah (God).

The only branch of Islam that actually has established clergy is Sufi. The closest thing in other branches of Islam is called an "imam", who acts as a religious teacher and often a prayer leader.

In certain sects of Islam there are other titles. For example, in Ahmadiyya, their leader is called huzur. I do believe, however, that imam is the most common position in all of Islam.

At the local level, the Muslim equivalent of a Jewish rabbi or a Christian preist or pastor is an imam, which I believe means teacher (or something similar.) At the highest level, the Muslim equivalent of the Pope is Ayatollah, with the Grand Ayatollah being higher than that. Naturally, the Muslim equivalent of Abrahm, Moses or JESUS is Muhammed (there seem to be many spellings for his name, not sure if the one I used is correct, though.)

"You should respect everyone's beliefs no matter what" is why we call them terrorists. they do not respect the religious beliefs of their children - they TERRORIZE them with a knife. fortunately, there are a some people outside of islam (and even a tiny fraction within) who recognize this fact; probably due to them bladeraping not only boys, but some girls too.

In my opinion, there aren't many Muslim leaders who don't subscribe to the radical line of thought. And if they do speak out, they are usually executed for their crime.
