True. USA entered WW I in 1917 - the war ended in 1918. USA entered WW II in Dec. 1941, the war started in 1939. The reason USA entered WW I was the sinking of a USA ship by the Germans. And Pearl Harbor was the reason for WW II. For both wars, Americans were isolationist and didn't want to get involved in Europe's problems.

That is where it stood until the odds were looking pretty bad.. They initially sent supplies but when the war turned a bit sour, they did get involved. Until Pearl Harbor was hit. Then it was all out fighting.
