is it a pencil skirt? if so, wear a soft fluffy but feminine sweater. a turtleneck if you can pull it off.
if it's an a-line skirt, you have to wear something more fit on top. a sweater is still fine as long as it's fit. and boots are good if you can see some of your leg. the top of the boot should not disappear underneath your skirt. then that's too chunky and not the feminine looking you're going for.
