I just had my ultrasound and saw that my baby is healthy and ACTIVE. Wow, that baby was sure moving around. Today I started to feel some cramps in my lower abdomen on either sides of my uterus. What could this cramping be? I would have asked my doctor, but I didn't have the pain till later today. Please no overdramatic people please.

If the cramps are on the sides of your abdomen it is just your uterus stretching to accomodate your growing baby, perfectly normal. If u feel it in your lower abdomen like menstrual type cramps then u need to drink more water, it is most likely due to dehydration which is very common in pregnancy. ways to relieve the pain is tylenol or u can try laying on your side, take a warm bath or shower and dont do to much streneous activity as this will cause your cramps to become worse. dont worry u are fine =) had this with both of my pregnancies. p.s make sure u drink 10-12 8 oz glasses of water a day.
Good Luck!

Call the doctor. Worst case scenario: you'll interrupt his dinner. He'll ask you a few questions and tell you if you need to go to the hospital or just set an appointment at the office.

I had a lot of pain on the sides of my abdomen, but I was much farther along (3rd trimester), if you're only 12 weeks, I doubt it's ligaments yet...

if your start to spot call ur doctors office he should have an answering service but lay down and get some rest you may have just over done it today at 12 wks your baby is also in a growth spert just lay down with a nice warm drink and relax just watch for spotting you should be fine if the cramps worsen also call your doctor if you get no answer then call the ER but don't start panicing stress is not good for the baby

Sometimes they are just growing pains. I would ask your MD tomorrow, but, just so you can sleep well tonight.......pains are usually a sign of the uterus growing. It will happen at different times during your pregnancy. As long as there is no bleeding and they are not debilitating, you are fine. Now go to sleep & call your MD in the AM.

It could be ligaments stretching. I had terrible cramps from this, I could barely work. It was constant too, they went away after 3 weeks and all is fine now. Congrats!

could be easy ligament discomfort. my ligament discomfort harm actual undesirable i could not pass in any respect. it happend whilst i might sneeze or cough or only moved the incorrect way. you are going to be only having familiar cramping from the uterus stretching.

Its normal. But if the pain gets worse, and doesnt eventually go away, go to the ER.
