You can't. As long as there have been humans, there have been humans doing bad things to other humans.
Even highly societies with extremely strict and punitive legal systems (such as Singapore and Saudi Arabia) still have crime. They *do* have lower levels, but the price they pay for that is an almost total loss of freedom. The price we pay for more freedom is a higher crime rate -- you decide which is more important to you :)

It can't be done. No matter how much we try, crime will always be a necessary ingredient of the economic system we live under.

Crime and all it's related activities equal big business.

The penal system is a growth industry. There are currently over two million Americans in a prison, that's about 1% of the population. May seem like only a little part of the big picture, but all the other related businesses depend on this to keep the economy going.

I would venture a guess that there are probably many more people doing smaller crimes than the figures reveal, perhaps as much as 10% of the people are doing something illegal which either hasn't been detected or has and they have a "slap on the wrist" (ankle monitor) because there aren't enough prisons to accomodate all criminals.

They will always try to stop crime by inventing better gadgets and systems, but the truth is, the more they try, the more different types of crimes result.

Lock up all the darkies...no, but seriously...if each person takes it upon themselves to not commit a crime, then nobody will commit a crime and it will stop. Also, if you see a crime, kill the criminal. Or the government could just make the penalties a little more harsh and have them as more of a deterrent. I mean if you kill a guy and you only get 5-10, how much of a penalty is that really? Only a flaming liberal would find that appropriate.

by NOT legislating every little thing (for example seat belt use)and trying to make morality the same as the law(abortion)!
there will always be people wanting the fast and easy $$, murder, rape, theft. I believe for most nonsexual nonfatal crimes we should go by the 3 strikes you are out and if they screw up 3x they are removed from society and put to good use-building homes for the poor or working on a farm or picking up trash by the highway ANYTHING but sitting on their butts watching cable TV or working out.
BUT for the sex crimes and murderers-violent stranger rape, molestation of children and the like once is all you get then you are GONE!

Absolutely impossible. To attempt to stop crime would lead to a communistic way of life, making everyone equal so no one wanted anything more, no one needed anything more. It won't happen because it CAN'T happen. Communism in its many ways and forms has been proved wrong over the years. Every communist country is wrecked with poverty and despair.

Nip it in the bud. Make sure everyone gets as good a basic education as they can to address crimes motivated economic hardship.

Add a conflict resolution class or two to the curriculum to address crimes of passion.

Teach the value of diversity and one's own contribution to it to address hate crimes.

If a person does a bad thing, they must get punished for it. So, they should make serious consequences for the crime that they had done and maybe they will get afraid.

I myself believe that there is no way to completely stop crime because as long as children continue to raise children our youth will continue to be on the wrong track. They will grow up to be our serial killers, robbers and theifs.

I dont think it will ever stop until the New system that God has planned..but anyways...
Join one of those Youth support groups, and help keep kids off the streets...so basically you'll grow their self-esteem before they grow up and be the future of crime.
