Go to your music folder on your PC and look for a file called iTunes Music Library.xml
Open the file with text editor (notepad or wordpad) and remove all the ! that you need. One fast way to do it is to replace all at once (Ctrl+H will pop up the replace menu). Replace all ! with NOTHING (leave the replace field blank). Save the file and then open iTunes.
Hope that works.

Make sure you've selected the right folder where all your songs are. If you know where all your songs are on your computer this problem should be fixed! The exclamtion mark means itunes can't find the file in the location it thinks its in.

I easily have an ipod and that i have downloaded over 500 songs for it and that i have not had a mission... I have a good virus protection so if the files are corrupt it really is going to tell me. attempt Norton anti virus then you fairly've got no complications.

If I were you I wouldn't even use itunes. I have a 30-gig Ipod and I use the real player. It takes a little more time to transfer the music to your iPod but it has never screwed up for me. TRY IT!!!

okay, here's what you need to do:
in itunes, click the bar that says File, then click "add folder to library"
then, pick desktop and wait while it re-adds all your files. it probably just glitched, and you need to re-add all your music. if you know where all your music is located, do that folder instead, to save time, you should be fine.
