fertility question?
hello everyone. I am a 21 year old female. I have been with my fiancee for 3 years. We have been trying for 7 months to get pregnant. I went to the gyno today for my yearly checkup. I asked him if there was anything wrong with me that would prevent me from having children. He said that there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with me and that if i go see him when I have been trying for 12 months and still havent conceived he will do more testing. I just wanted more advice from mothers on here. When we try he is always on top and we make love every other day when I am supposevly ovulating. So just any other advice would be very much appriciated-also are there any natural herbs that would help us? Thanks so much! Angi

Hi there..I am going through the same thing, it is so frustrating! You may need to have a fertility work up and possible get your fiancee a sperm analysis to rule him out. Also charting helps to pinpoint ovulation to a "t".
The only way for you to know if you are ovulating is to take your basal body temp each morn, same time and before you get up. You should see a pattern in temps that leads up to and after ovulation. You can get the basal thermometer at Wal-Mart for about 8 dollars. I use a wonderful FREE website called Fertilityfriend.com...it graphs your temps for you, keeps track of your fertility signs, tells you when you ovulate and also tells you if there is an implantation dip in your temps. You can also use Ovulation prediction kits, but they only measure your LH surge and give you a ball park time for ovulation...they do not pin point it. Oh, and it is possible to be ovulating while you do not have your period, just like it is possible to have a period and not ovulate.

I'm not a mother but can tell you that it is common for a doctor to say come back in 12 months. If you're been trying for 3 years you might consider having your fiancee get his sperm tested for motility. Understand that it may not be you at all. Additionally there are many things that guys can do that unknowingly reduces their sperm count - tight underwear, heat, etc. Give it 12 months and ask your guy to get his sperm tested in the mean time. If he's worth keeping he will have no problem at all with it.

If he hasn't done any test there could be a couple of small things wrong. But definately nothing to worry about. My husband and I have actually been having unprotected sex for 4 years, and i just got pregnant in january. I had a procedure done, i forgot the name, but it is to see if there is a blockage in your fallopian tubes, and a lot of times after they do that, you might have had the smallest blockage and the dye they use clears it out. Or, you could just not be ovulating, like i was, and they put me on clomid and i conceived in two weeks. If you haven't yet, you should get one of those over the counter ovulation kits. I wouldn't worry just yet though, it takes a lot of time, and as you can see effort. Good luck ^_^
