I think because of his father constantly telling him that he was ugly and there was something wrong with his face. Micheal when he was young, had really bad acne so his father would constantly put him down, say that he was ugly, and called him all kinds of derogatory names. I think Micheal developed a complex over the constant badgering and abuse so he tried to change everything about him but he went too far in doing so. I always thought Micheal looked nice, and if he felt he needed plastic surgery, he should have stopped when he did the album Thriller because he looked perfect then.

Yes, I understand your opinion about that! He has definitely gone overboard! I watched this show, a while back, about when people develop this obsession with plastic surgery. The plastic surgeon was black; all they did was talk about MJ! They started by showing pics of him through the years.....it was astounding to see the changes! He definitely has mental issues! The doctors who keep cutting on him need to be arrested!! It's gross....

Plastic surgery can be addictive like any drug or tattoos. He has went to far and the surgeons who did it for him should have been more responsible. Like a bartender tells someone you have had too much to drink and stops serving you. The Dr.s should have done the same.

1. I think he has a somewhat similar pathology as anorexics, and bulimics.

2. Distorted body image, and a need to control his body as a safety mechanism. Unfortunately, it becomes addicting, ergo the results.

He appears to suffer from body dysmorphic disorder, and he is compulsively driven to change his body.

Alternatively, he may just be a modern-day monster.
