costochondritis is the inflammation of the cartiledge in the rib cage. Usually btwn the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rib. Its benign chest pain. I've had it since I was 17 and usually in the winter it gets really bad. Does anyone have any natural ways to help this? Advil doesnt help. Thanks.

Costochondritis sends thousands to the ER every year because it does and can mic mic a heart attack. Once it has been confirmed that that is indeed the problem, usually any NSAID is recommended. A NSAID is simply a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or agent. Any proprionic acid will work such as ibuprofen, naproxen, fenoprofen, ketoprofen, and flurboprofen using empirical dosing. Tylenol and ASA also work but not quite as well the proprionic acids as mentioned. Some people also use liniment/ muscle rubs and hot baths with comforting results. Sometimes "drafts" to the upper body seem to precipitate an attack examples: people who drive with their arm out of the car window, repetitive movements, or have the air conditioning blowing on their chests are classicals. Keep trying different NSAIDS I am certain one will work for you along with some heat. Good Luck...................

Activator Methods Chiropractic technique has some excellent protocols that I've seen help Costochronditis. It could be a Thoracic vertebra misalignment, or a problem with the ribs themselves.
