singing is only scary if I do it! but seriously....
do you sing anywhere else? your room, or the shower? if you have sing as much as you can while your alone and can relax, then when your on stage think back to that relaxed feeling, go with it and have fun. hey, have you sung for friends and family that gave you real positive feedback? get some confidence singing in front of them as many as you can handle so you can get used to singing in front of crowds. good luck and peace!

The truth? YES.
the only way to get over your initial stage fright, is by performing. The more confident you are, the better you will be. Practice, practice, practice, then practice some more. Get all the faith in yourself that you can. Then when you get on that stage, forget about everybody. Focus on the song, and singing it with the emotion & the vocals it needs. PERFORM it.
Dont show the nervousness, play it off, fake it til you make it honey! If it is a dance song, have fun with it, practice some moves, if it is a love song, sing it to the one you love. Smile & dont be afraid to connect with the audience. You will win them over with talent & confidence. & it gets easier & easier the more you do it.
The auditions will probably be one of the hardest parts because you are placed on the spot, but once you begin performing repititiously with the rest of the cast it should be much easier. Break that Leg girl!!!! :)

Yes it is. I've been singing in a band since I was 17 and the first song is always the toughest. But it gets less nerve-wracking the more you do it. I'm 39 now and I still love it!

well it depends on the person. i am a basically shy girl and everyone says so but in 4th grade i tried out for the solo, got it and sang in front of all the students and parents and teachers. there were so much kids from pre-k to 12th grade. it's not that bad once you get on stage though

if you are a naturally good singer it will be somewhat easy for you. just remember, if you miss a note your life will not end. if someone picks on you, ask THEM to sing a few bars of the song. :)
