I think you really need to take good care of your skin first. I would recommend using a cleansing milk (no foam), then use a hydrating serum and a hydrating night cream as your routine. Do you use a liquid foundation or just a 2-way cake? If your skin is dry, you will need to use a liquid foundation instead. Before applying the foundation, you will need a moisturizing makeup primer - then together with the moisture in your skin, your foundation will last and be fabulous.

Aloe Vera may not be the best thing for your face if you need moisutre. I would go with an oil based lotion (any over the counter kind will do) and use it every morning before you put on your makeup. At night, use a light cleanser (you may even want to use cold cream every other night instead of cleanser) and an oil free lotion, like Curel.

I'd try using a moisturizer before you put your make up on. I wouldn't wipe it off, I'd try just putting your foundation on over it. Also, maybe you should experiment with different foundations. That's what I did. I had the same problem but found that Infallible by Loreal worked great. Good luck!

are you sunburned? if so, maybe swallow your pride and skip the makeup for a bit?

if not, and your face is always like this, go to a department store and ask for someone to help you find the right products for your skin. Clinique gave me an awesome toner to exfoliate, and moisturizer. It has worked very well.

Drinking water is what gets the moisture in your skin, the moisturizer merely keeps it there.

So drink as much water as you can stand, and get a thick day moisturizer. Also, using sunscreen is a clever trick for keeping the moisture in.

Instead of using lotion on your face use moisturizer. It's lotion actually meant for your face.

You might try exfoliating it frequently and then applying moisturizer, I recommend Olay's 7 signs of aging moisturizer, I love it. I have dry spots too.

use a moisturizing cleanser, then exfoliate (buff off the dead skin), then use a moisturizer. you might have to lay off the makeup for a while or you can use a tinted moisturizer (the coverage is pretty sheer) instead of foundation
