If he's in prison, there's a good chance he's not worth keeping. If he cheated on you, there's a good chance he's not worth keeping. This guy is a loser. I don't know you, but I know you are better than that. Pick yourself up, dust off your self respect and earn a life for yourself that you can be proud of.

are you willing to sacrifice over a year of your life to being alone for someone who cheated on you? Cheaters rarely change their spots - how will you feel if you stay faithful to him for 14 months and then he cheats again once he's out?
No way would I wait - Don't sacrifice yourself on the altar of what might be....
