Rumours abound that it is about Mick Jagger (that's his vocals you can hear in the chorus of the song), or about notorious womaniser Warren Beatty. Last year a man won an auction prize, of a dinner date with Carly Simon, at which she would tell the winner who the song was about, on the condition that he never reveal it to anybody else.
