Go to your mechanic, could be the alternator or something else. I had that problem while traveling and my car just died. Fortunately my husband was able to buy an alternator at a auto part store and with the help of the employees replace the bad one with the good one. Of course the Lord provided the means and place considering we were traveling from Iowa to the east coast and this happened on a Sunday! Don't wait like I did, get it checked out especially if the light remains on all the time.

It means there is a code set in your cars computer- something is wrong. I do not recommend Auto Zone. You may as well take your car to Dairy Queen. Use the services of ASE certified mechanic. They know what they're talking about, they EARNED their certificate, and they deserve your business. Auto Zone wants to sell you parts that unless you can install them- are pretty much not worth the "savings"

It means that your car is due for regular scheduled maitenance soon. A lot of new cars have computers that keep track of this. Check your owners manual. If there is nothing due that you have not taken care of there could be a problem that needs to be diagnosed with a mechanic's computer.

It means they want you to drive your car back to the dealership to sell you things you don't need. It happens after so many miles. I have a Chevy Tahoe that light comes on every once in a while I ignore it and nothing happens. If you lease don't even give it a second thought. Leases are like rentals.

It can be indicative of many things... it can tell you if the car is overheating, if your hoses are leaking. Could be something very simple. If you dont know much about cars, just take it to a shop to have it looked at.

You need to have your car looked at by a mechanic ASAP. DRive as little as possible until you get it fixed, or you could blow your engine out.

If you go to an auto parts store, like Auto Zone, they can hook your car up to a computer which will tell you what is wrong. Such as, a bad oxygen sensor or whatever.
