whatever makes you happy. you will do better, enjoy the study, and be more content with the final product (hopefully a job in the field of study) if you major in something that interests you and gives you a sense of accomplishment.

I went into a career that doesn't have many women. I can tell you that you can get a whole lot of grant money and scholarships if you take the time to dig for them. If money is not a worry, then I would say pick whichever you like the best and you think you will still like in 20 years. Also, just a thought... you may try taking a few classes in each through a community college ( i mention this just becuase they are cheaper then a university) and see which one really grabs your attention and challenges you.

Well, architecture is good if you enjoy physics and engineering and math. It also usually leads to a very well paying job and noterity.
An interior designer isn't as complicated, however is as difficult as architecture. Unfortunately, the job does not pay so well, unless you become very experienced and talented.

Which one interests you the most?
I agree with your mom, that there are fewer girls in architecture. It might work to your advantage. You normally do not have to declare a major right away. Maybe you could take courses in both areas before you decide.

You probably could get a scolarship for taking non traditional courses. Take the architecture. unless of course, you are a chicken!

i think it should be basedon what you personally want. i respect your moms suggestion but you will be the one who will have to go through a lot of pages, try to get carrer counseling to check and know your strong and weak points, your abilities etc

this is a very important decission and you must never be influenced by any person, it should be about your happyness and what you want out of life. my father wanted me to study teaching but i just could not as a result im now studying law cause its what i want. SO ITS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR HAPPYNESS take suggestions and evaluate them acording to your abilities.
