Style and play is probably very different. When you put a variety of guys that play for several different teams, into one team, it might be hard to adjust to that sort of style or tactic that the manager may be enforcing. Especially when you don't play with each other as often as in a club team. When you play with your club, you play with your teammates so much that you soon fall into that sort of style and tactic enforced by your club manager.

International soccer is a much different fish than playing BS sides like
Sunderland. It's a far superior level of talent and Lampard, frankly, is not that good. I mean, the guy can't hit the net when it really counts.

There are always players that shine for their club and not for country ie Matt Le Tissier, Robbie Fowler.
Maybe Lampard just isn't settling in well with the tactical system at international level.

Things usually are harder than clubs, except when when you have to face all-star teams like Chelsea FC in leagues.

he is playing well for england now not as in the wc..he scored 2 or 3 goals in matches against macedonia and greece..
