NYU is one of the colleges I want to apply for once I am a senior in high school. Right now, I'm a freshman.

I want to get into NYU (if not Ivy League) because it is a GREAT school for Law and Business.

As of now, I am in all Honors classes except for one CP (but I am taking Geometry CP in freshman year).

I am going to join basketball and track.

I am in debate club, interact club (community service), and ERASE (eliminating racism and sexism).

I also plan on joining the student council for President.

As of now, what else should I be doing?

Do you have any good tips?

Should I already be practicing for the SATs?
(took them twice already though- 7th & 8th grade)

ANY GOOD ADVICE IS WELCOMED!

Thanks!

Sounds like you know what you want and are well on your way to getting it. Just don't push yourself too hard that you get burnt out or start letting one thing slide. I would also recommend taking post secondary which proves to colleges that you can handle college work before it's time to really apply for colleges. From what you have said here, as long as you pull a 3.75 gpa you should be able to get almost anywhere and will probably even pass with a 3.5... good luck

Wow you can spell! Or at least use the spell check. That puts you way ahead of most of the people on this site.

In all seriousness, you seem to be quite intelligent. Your plans for high school courses and activities sound great.

Most colleges are looking for this type of well-rounded student. SAT scores are also quite important. The two websites listed below should give you some insight as to what specific schools are looking for in prospective students.

Good luck!

rookies twelve months does no longer truly teach some thing. even with in case your college has a rigorous rookies twelve months, it skill little or no to faculties searching at your transcript. also, those 2 faculties are very diverse from one yet another. Columbia is a miles extra rigorous college than NYU. Orchestra counts as an extracurricular. even as they say extracurricular, it does no longer inevitably recommend golf equipment. i'd say, searching on the way you do later in college, you'd be in a position to make a extra perfect determination as to which college will settle for you. if you're only using to those faculties becuase of status or region, I recommend, re-evalute. Ask again in 2 years

You are doing a good job so far! If your school offers any classes on Sat's take them, if not find out where else you can take them in your area. Sometimes they are offered after school or in the summer. The counselor at your school should be able to help you with information.

I would start practicing for the SAT. I got a high score, and got into NYU. Get the guide on http://www.guideparadise.com

I hope that helps.
