The Metric system in Canada has cost us Billions of dollars it is a much more accurate way of measuring things . I still wonder if it was worth it . Do you remember when Gas would go up a penny or two a gallon ? If you don't I do . Now it's a few Pennies a liter and all you have to do is add it up . I think the American people have seen the light and are very happy to let thing be as they are.

Jimmy Carter made a push for the metric system back in the 70's. I wish it would have taken hold. It's a much simpler system. The emphasis was on conversion from the old system. This confused older folks. We should have just not stressed the conversion and stressed the unit of measure as completely different unit by itself (not related to the old). I believe the adaptation would have gone smoother.

If taught at an early age in schools, it could easily become as widely known as our current system. I believe that just about anyone could learn the metric system if they truly wanted to, but most Americans would think, "why bother when our current system works just fine?" And I imagine most would just be too lazy to try and learn to use the metric system (I am!)

no... but it came at a bad time for americans. it is sooo much more simple than the system we have in place... honestly... all you do is multiply or divide by ten!!! It's just the americans loooked at it during the 70s and thought I don't want none of this Communist Metric System. I'm going to shoot that there Metric System with my gun. And since then, the americans have been to arrogant and ignorant to adopt it. The End.

but I guess... that it's not that it's too complicated... it's that the americans are too stupid.. honestly... I bevelie that multiplying by ten is much simpler than multiplying by like 12!!!

No, metric is easy. Americans use it all the time in science, education, and the research industry. It's just that we're too stubborn and lazy to change a long-held tradition.

The metric system is about as complicated as a 6 piece jigsaw puzzle for toddlers.....so to answer your question....yes, for many Americans it is too complicated. EVERY other country in the world uses the metric system EXCEPT the US, which uses the ancient imperial system!
