Yes... I wanted to be able to buy clothing and things before hand. I didn't want to go with all neutral colors and I didn't want to have to run out afterward and buy clothing all at once. My ultrasound showed a girl... I have not had her yet (she is due in 6 weeks) but after 3 ultrasounds there is really NO doubt. I would be very surprised if she did come out a boy. It really helped to find out in my case because I was able to get A LOT of clothing (90 some outfits just for 0-3 months to be exact) from my family... my cousin has a daughter that is a year old and I got her hand me downs (most of them I threw out though because.... the reason I am going to mention next) my other cousin was supposed to have a girl and they had all brand new clothing EXTREMELY cute clothing. Well, their little girl was born a little boy... this was a month ago. So, instead of returning the clothes to the stores, they gave them all to me... brand new, never been worn bbbbeeeauuttttiful outfits. I am glad I found out.

With the first baby I could not wait to find out what I was having. Waiting was like having a present and not being able to open it! They said I was having a girl and I did.
The second time I did not find out until I had the baby - it was a boy. To hear them say, It's a boy!" was really fun.
Either way is fine. It was great knowing because I could think of my baby as a specific person and even think of her by name. Not knowing was funny because I kept wondering who was in there! But the surprise was awesome.
Whatever you do just keep in mind that the person reading the ultrasound could make a mistake. I knew I would love the baby no matter if it was a boy or a girl - but what was I going to do with all the pink stuff!! :)

I personally think it stinks. Just the excitement of wondering what my child was going to be was enjoyable and I certainly wasn't mad when our first turned out to be a girl. I continue to laugh today because one of my brother-in-laws commented to me that it took a man to have a boy and my father-in-law was standing there and gave him an answer which was... "but it takes a damned good man to put the plumbing on the inside".
We had 7 children and the only one who really got mad was my wife. The first was a girl and the other 6 were boys. LMAO

Yes. With my daughter I *knew* I was having a girl. The ultrasound confirmed it, and guess what? I had a girl.

When I was a surrogate the first time, I *knew* I would be having twins - boy and girl. And I did.

When I was a surrogate the second time, I *knew* I was having a boy. Again...I did.

First no but had to because if I had a girl my ex was going to leave, I had a boy but I left instead. Second Found out just becasue I was on this one by myself again, third I waited because that is what my hubby wanted plus he swore it was a girl, it was, not alone anymore.
