Find another job first, then quit. Try to do the best you can, and leave your current job under good terms. Never piss off an employer, it could affect your career down the road. Good luck.

here the advice if free. let's be realistic. how much money do you have as "savings"-- don't tell me/us, tell yourself! what else do you have any experience in -- again ask yourself. how many kids do you have at home waiting for your pay-cheque, how about a wife...etc..all are important part of the consideration whether you should quit now or later or never. Money does rule--because you have or someone else has to eat. It is ironic but it is the truth. No decision can be made --except by you. Weigh all and decide and put some good luck on either part of the scale.

GO BACK TO SCHOOL and get your MS and PhD in your favorite subjects.
If you're already very familiar with the subject, you can jump straight into your PhD program.....

start looking now and maybe you will find something else that interests you. hopefully, you aren't 50 years old, if you are then you might just as well stay where you are at.
