i recently upgraded to xp pro from home(it was free, why not i thought?). since then my ipod and flash drive wont work -- they show up in the 'safely remove hardware' list and everything, but not in My Computer or iTunes... its like they can no longer be mounted as drives. My usb mouse and mobile phone both work fine still (note that both dont mount drives). any ideas?

Your flash drive and ipod are usb 2.0 compliant so they are easily detected in win xp, so u can see the safety remove hardware icon on the task bar.

Maybe u should plug them out then slowly replug in again as far as i know certain objects have sentitive ports for myself have an ipod also, i have to plug & unplug a few times before i can transfer files.

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for them.
Check device manager to see if they show in there and if they are said to be working properly

it may desire to look like a reliable concept, yet that's on account which you're thinking in easy terms in one direction. think of roughly case in point what might ensue if one driving force is doing ninety in a one hundred zone. yet another driving force will overtake, and if he is going one hundred it is going to take 'a protracted time' for him/her to get previous. This in turn skill that this driving force is spending numerous time driving on the lane of oncoming site visitors, it extremely is in all probability the main threatening action of all. plenty greater risky than dashing! "each and every ok over is a killer" is in easy terms one in each and every of those slogans that governments will use to objective to brainwash human beings. no longer unavoidably to save lives (as they declare), yet frequently to justify their very own appalling strikes, it extremely is, hurting those with fines, demerit factor and/or perhaps penal complex sentences. intentionally hurting human beings IS an appalling behaviour (action). Giving a reason (or excuse) why we could desire to continuously or shouldn't discover it proper is yet another factor -- yet would not replace the evil nature of the action. if certainty be recommended, there are circumstances the place temporarily going very quickly is plenty, plenty safer than going sluggish and putting your self and others in risky circumstances for a comparatively long length. In some circumstances, 'stepping on it' is the only thank you to evade a deadly crash. As for velocity limiters touching directly to truck drivers,... right here in Australia there are a gazillion of truck drivers that insist on driving their great deadly weapons perfect up different driving force's @sses, despite in the event that they're already doing, say a hundred and five in a one hundred zone. that's similar to sticking a loaded shotgun into somebody's face; if for despite reason the driving force in front has to brake without notice, he or she would have the ability to be squashed like a sardine in a can.
