Hun, this happens ALL the TIME. When people get older, they often change and aren't such great friends any more. Sometimes, they go through phases and then they realize that they were better friends than they thought. Just back off and let her start to miss you. Make friends with other people, too. It's better to have a variety of friends: that's what growing up is all about. Very few people actually keep the same friends all their life-- that's just some ideal thought.

If your childhood friend is really your friend maybe she just needs her space. Something may be going on in her life that she is not ready to share. Just go on with your life and give her some time. A real friend is just being there if she needs you. Understanding even if it makes no sense. And forgiving even if there is no reason.

Your lives are going in two different directions now. Give her some space and understand that she is growing and exploring new things. Don't discount her as a friend but accept that things probably won't be as close as it used to be.
