15/2 divided by 4/7

first you need the reciprical of 4/7 which is 7/4. also turn the diviion sign into a multiplication sign.

15/2 X 7/4
15 X 7 is 105 and 2 X 4 is 8 so its 105/8
I don't think you can simplify, but if you need to make it a mixed number its 13 1/8 as a decimal its 13.125

instead of dividing 2 fractions swap the top and bottom numbers of one fraction over then multiply by the other fraction
eg. 15/2 * 7/4 or 2/15 * 4/7

so your answer is 105/8

(15/2)/(4/7) = (15/2)(7/4)

The reason we multiply the upper fraction by the reciprocal of the lower fraction is shown as follows:

(a/b)/(c/d)

The lower fraction becomes 1 if I multiply it by d/c (its reciprocal

(c/d)(d/c) = 1

Whatever is done to the lower fraction must be done to the upper fraction as well

(a/b)/(c/d) = [(a/b)(d/c)]/[(c/d)(d/c)] = [ad/bc]/[1] = ad/bc
