IBS(irritable bowel syndrome) is usually caused by foods irritating the small or large intestine. You can try food elimination. Figure out what foods trigger it. Sometimes wheat, dairy, etc can be a source. There is a medication (Zelnorm) now for IBS. You can also go to a health food store and they have some herbal alternatives.

I know a lot of people have this problem. One way to relieve it is to add one tablespoon of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to a small glass of warm water, once or twice per day. And please stay away from pharaceutical applications, they all contain chemicals. And I am thinking like most of the others that it sounds as if grains are your problem, they are so over processed.

Eat fiber, though not excessively. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Reduce your intake of caffiene. Emotional stress can cause it to flare up, sometimes a day or two after the stress occurs.
You can also look for Enteric Coated Peppermint Oil tablets - there is some evidence that they can reduce the symptoms.

This has become more common since antibiotics were invented, killing the good bacteria in your gut. Take a good probiotic from the health food store. And keep a food diary to eliminate any food allergies!
